A collection of love letters written to the town.
I’m glad you’re the skyline outside my office window.
When I was a little girl growing up, I always dreamed of a job with a view of the skyline. I didn’t care which skyline, I just wanted to see big buildings all of the time. I grew up and still live in a small town outside of Toledo. While we were traveling down the farm field lined roads, I would catch myself searching for your buildings. I wanted to see your skyline. But what I didn’t realize until just a few years ago, you were more than buildings. When my family expanded, I met you. I met you through the art museum that my children love! I met you through the amazing architecture that now serves as backdrops in my family photographs. I met you through the Toledo Zoo, where we spend many of weekends and summer days. From your small shops to small cafés, you offer endless venues for my family and I. I find myself searching for events in our city instead of traveling out of town. Toledo, I’m glad you’re the skyline outside my office window.
We caught up with Sara at her place of work, Owens Corning, to soak up the skyline that she gets to gaze at every day. The building itself is fantastic and our shutterbug, Heather, had such fun there with Sara taking her photos.
